With the official Wii Component cables costing $29 + shipping from Nintendo and being extremely hard to find, we have been holding off getting them to improve the Wii display on our HDTV. Since the composite video works just fine for Wii Sports, I have not been in a rush to get them. I ran across a posting on Slickdeals.net for Wii Component cable from Play-Asia.com for $9.99 and decided to order them as I didn't need it right away. The website said it was back ordered and would ship once restocked and the store is located in Hong Kong so I figured it would take a while. I ordered it on Sunday and paid via PayPal. The total was $13.39 with shipping. My order was placed on Sunday and I guess the message about it being out of stock is wrong as they shipped it the following day (Monday). The cable showed up early the following week and works great. Just plugged it in, booted up the Wii and changed the configuration to output 480p. Games look better as you can see much more texture, especially Zelda. For $13.399 this is a steal considering I saw Component Cables in stores like Gamestop for almost $60. So if you have an HDTV and a Wii, it is hard to pass this deal up for such a small price.
